US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu is going to visit Nepal today. Sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have informed that Lu is scheduled to come to Nepal in the evening.

Sources say that he will hold high-level political meetings during his stay in Nepal. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s visit to the US has been cancelled. Earlier, Lu visited Nepal even before the MCC agreement was approved.

It is said that he will meet the top leaders of political parties including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka. Some time after Nepal rejected the State Partnership Program (SPP), Lu’s visit to Nepal is considered meaningful.
