In Rautahat, one person was killed in a dispute over Kulo Demonstration demanding registration of case will be discussed here in details. 77-year-old Gopal Ghimire, a resident of Panitol, Chandranigahapur-4, Rautahat, died due to beating. On July 28, he was beaten up during a dispute over Kulo. DSP Sunil Malla of District Police Office Rautahat told Ratopati that he died during treatment at the University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu.
He was attacked by a group when there was a dispute over garbage collection in Kulo. After the death of Ghimire on Monday, the locals protested in front of the area police office, Chandranigahapur. Locals have registered a case of ‘duty death’ and demanded an investigation into the incident.
On June 29, the police filled out the examination form and sent it for treatment. Ghimire was brought to Kathmandu by his relatives after receiving treatment in Birgunj. After being treated at the first KMC hospital in Kathmandu, he again went to the University Teaching Hospital. He died during treatment at the University Teaching Hospital. The police have arrested 5 people for their involvement in the incident. Police have not released the names of those arrested.
