Monkeypox declared a public health emergency by the Biden administration

Monkeypox declared a public health emergency by the Biden administration will be discussed here in details. The Biden administration has declared monkeypox a public health emergency. The administration declared a public health emergency on Thursday in view of the growing situation across the United States.

Health and Human Services Secretary Javier Becerra announced the decision at a press conference on Thursday.
While the announcement has been criticized, some have called on the government to declare a national emergency without delay.

Since monkeypox was first detected in the United States in mid-May, there have been more than 6,600 confirmed cases in the United States. It has been identified in all states except Montana and Wyoming, according to CNN.

The US followed suit after the World Health Organization declared a public health emergency last month.
Some cities and states, including New York City, San Francisco, California, Illinois, have already declared monkeypox a state of emergency.
