At least 10 people have been taken to hospital and many more are missing after an explosion and fire destroyed an apartment in Silver Spring, Maryland, on Thursday morning, officials said.

At 10:30 a.m. in the Friendly Garden apartment on Lyttonville Road, residents were frightened by a loud banging sound. After that, there was a fire

“It simply came to our notice then. I can really feel it on my back, “said Andre Kinard, a crossroadsman. “Then I saw everything screaming, and then the first two or three were screaming.” He added.
